Rough Sleeping in the
The number of people sleeping rough on our streets has increased 157% over the last 3 years.
The knock on effect is increased pressure on the support network that helps rough sleepers, teams that are committed to working with individuals to provide accommodation, hot meals, medical treatment and ultimately a better future.
That’s why we invite you to join us in working together so that every member of the community can turn small change into big change.

Change Into Action is an Alternative Giving Scheme being piloted across Birmingham, supporting specialist charities and street teams working to change the circumstances of rough sleepers.

Without a network of specialist street teams and dedicated charities, it is difficult for any help to make long term changes. Here are just some of the heroes behind the scenes and the work they do.
The Street Intervention Team
Working day and night, Birmingham City Council's SIT attends to rough sleepers, providing a range of support from health services to accommodation.
St Basils works with young people aged 16-25 who are homeless or at risk of homelessness, helping over 5000 young people every year.
Works with vulnerable adults experiencing homelessness or who are vulnerably housed, providing daily drop-in services provide meals, showers and clothes.
A leading housing organisation, delivering homes and services across the Midlands that enable people to live independently.
